Description

Briarley Hill

Discover your inner "John Wayne" in this breathtakingly beautiful mountain lodge on the scenic horse farm in rural Montgomery County, MD, 45 minutes from Washington, D.C. Golfer's, fishers and horse paradise.

Get away from the busyness of downtown Washington, and enjoy the peace of this lodge overlooking a rolling pasture of horses grazing by the fish-filled pond. The 3-story house includes 4 bedrooms, 3 and a half baths with jacuzzi's in each one, an elegant dining room, 2 full kitchens, a spa room with massage table and infrared sauna, a scenic great room, a first floor media room with a 70' flatscreen TV, an extra full kitchen, and an upper room with a full library of books.

Choose from hundreds of books, and read in front of the Great Room 30-foot fireplace, or the woodstove. Bring your computer and enjoy wireless access. In the summer months, gather fresh vegetables from the garden that you can prepare in the 2 kitchens, or have a caterer prepare meals for your group.

Drive 7 miles to White's Ferry, cross the Potomac River into Virginia, and shop at the large outlet mall there, or drive to the many wineries along Route 15. In the summertime, watch polo matches at the 2 polo clubs in Poolesville.

For exercise, we have exerstrider poles, rebounders (small mini trampolines), and yoga mats with videos to follow along in the media/exercise room. Or you may choose to fish in the well-stocked pond, or take horseback riding lessons from our on-site trainers!

Reviews

Lovely property and thoughtful owner

We loved everything about our stay at Briarley Hill. Alyse kindly reached out and offered help with whatever we needed. The home is in a beautiful and very relaxing setting and there were plenty of things to do to stay busy. The suggested wineries were some of the best I've ever visited. Bassett's restaurant was so good we ate there 4 times! The people who live on the property are all super friendly and helpful, and the sweet barn cats and friendly donkey I will fondly remember. Thank you for a memorable week!”

Briarley Hill

We really enjoyed our stay at Briarley Hill. The house is spectacular and beautifully decorated with furnishings that fit with it’s position in the center of a horse farm. The large picture windows in the great room and the third floor study look out on a huge grass pasture surrounding a large pond. Through out the day you can watch some 10 to 20 horses peacefully grazing. The owner Elyse was attentive and responsive. She provided extensive recommendations for restaurants, wineries and a variety of activities. It was an experience we will long remember and hope to repeat.”
