Formentor Bay, Mallorca, Spain
Puig de Formentor
Mallorca is known for its mild climate, scenic beauty, sandy beaches with crystal clear waters and valuable artistic heritage.
Formentor Bay, located on the Northen East part of the Island, is one of the most exclusive Bays in the Mediterranean grounded on Tramontana Natural Park.
Construction in the area is restricted. There are only 40 villas and one Hotel making it even more exclusive.
The access to the bay is through a spectacular road, which runs 13 kilometers from Port Pollenca to Cape Formentor, was carved out of the cliff by an Italian engineer Antonio Paretti. From the crest of this bare mountain road, the route snakes downhill to a forested peninsula where there are secluded bays, a long sandy beach and the well known Hotel Formentor.
This impressive villa is one of the most precious gems in Formentor. Its bay, of incredible beauty, is ideal for all sorts outdoor activities.
Situated off-the-beaten track, on a small hill overlooking Formentor bay, this magnificent house, grants privacy, distinction and comfort. It owns 40,000 meters of terrain around the house.
Spacious terracing and a gazebo surrounds the swimming pool, ideal for al fresco dinning. Complete renovation completed June 2018, new bathrooms, wardrobes and A/C added.
Great attention has been taken to decorate the house in a warm Mediterranean style. The overall atmosphere is one of exquisite refinement.
Everything in this majestic property inspires feeling of harmony, serenity and charm. Here is a dream property.
The white sanded Formentor beach and its crystalline waters are just a short distance and can be accessed by foot, along a rough private path inside Puig de Formentor Estate.
The idea of the villa is to focus on the natural surroundings and its' unique beauty, rather than technology. There is a small TV (Spanish channels), although some programmes can be seen in V.O.
We recommend a 4x4 or a tall car to drive the path up the hill. Any normal car car go up too but a 4x4 would be more efficient and faster.
We have staff living on the grounds in a separate building to look after the property and guests’ needs.
5 bedrooms, 5 baths, and 3000 square feet
1 King, 1 King, 1 King, 2 Twin Singles, and 2 Twin Singles

Spectacular Property and Views
This was our first trip to Europe in many years. Puig de Formentor is a spectacular property and did not disappoint us. The journey from the airport to the villa took us along a winding mountain road with exceptional views and many opportunities for post card type photos. The villa itself is a well appointed and comfortable European style home with four bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, large kitchen and dining area and two excellent staff that were eager to please our group of four and to ensure that we had a wonderful stay. What made the property so special and spectacular is the well thought out outdoor space with multiple outdoor dining and sitting areas. A massive outdoor pool. Anywhere you went on the property there were spectacular vantage areas with views of the bay and the mountains. For beach lovers there was a short path down the mountain to Formentor beach with its turquoise waters. Most of all this property had a distinct feeling of privacy, solitude and relaxation. Special thanks to Emilia our gracious host for sharing her home with us. Jon, Terri, Jim and Carolyn”
A splendid week in a magical setting
Every now and then you get a view that is so arresting that it is hard to compare it with anything else you have seen before. To then have that view as your backdrop for a whole week was both a joy and a privilege. This is a truly special place. Hidden away in the most exclusive area of Mallorca, entry to the property is through a non-descript gate and up a windy rocky track. Having a car with a little extra clearance is highly recommended albeit not completely necessary. The view and Cris & Rolito are there to meet you in tandem and from that point on you are looked after wonderfully. Having 5 small children meant that we did not venture too far, but the pool and beach at the bottom of the hill ( a 10 minute walk at most) kept everyone entertained. The beach is particularly good for small children as the water is warm and has a gentle gradient without much current. Cris prepared a delicious array of meals most nights and excellent food for the children. The bedrooms were clean, very comfortable and air-conditioned, but we only needed to turn them on before bed such is the natural breeze around the puig (hill). Pollensa - both the port and the old town are well worth a trip. You can play tennis for at the hotel at the bottom of the hill and the Alcanada Golf Course across the bay near Alcudia is in a very picturesque spot. If you get the opportunity, definitely try and a take a boat out to explore the beaches and coves not easily accessed on foot. If you do, hire it in Port Pollensa at Mallorca Boat Charters and ask for Nico. He gave us a good deal and has promised to do the same for all THIRDHOME members looking to get out on the water. I could not recommend this home more highly. The hospitality of the owners is fantastic and they provide a lot information and answers to any questions that you have. Cris and Rolito were an excellent blend of attentive and discreet and they do a great job of making sure you have a good time. Cris' cooking is a real treat. Thank you again for allowing us to stay and we hope to be able to possibly come again in the not too distant future.”
